If Mclaren manage to match or beat the 458 we could be in for a right battle manufacturer wise like they both did back in the good old days of F1. Ferrari will not like it if they have their feathers (mane if you want) ruffled with Mclarens first real car since the F1 back in the 90's. All I can say is if they do (I hope they build a decent car) it will be great for us petrolheads to get on the forum and battle it out in our own corners backing which ever competitor.

I doubt McLaren will roll the MP4-thing out before they're absolutely sure it can go toe to toe with the 458.

Pretty bloody impressive numbers though.

However, its all about how much fun it is to drive. The 458 left me cold, way too easy to get to silly speeds and so I bought a new unregistered 16M. I hope the McL won't be as sanitised as the 458 (all IMO of course).
