World’s Fastest Mclaren 570S Pulls 9-Second 1/4 Mile!

By -

If you really want a fast drag car, don’t go American muscle, go with a McLaren!

Florida tuners Billet Design Motorsports have made what is known to be the quickest McLaren 570S in the world, boasting a 9-second 1/4-mile time. Their base was a 2016 model, and 600 horsepower to the wheels was claimed, but not without cooling issues. With cooling sorted out, real numbers could be made, with an astonishing 624 horsepower to the wheels as the final result.

We think the most surprising part is how easily the speed was attained. Exhaust was changed, cooling was re-worked, and the stock ECU was re-mapped, but that’s about it. Needless to say, Billet Design Motorsports is working on new equipment to up the ante even more. They are looking at turbo upgrades, and a few other piping solutions to overcome the restrictions of the stock units.

With so much attention given to cars like the GT-R, it is little wonder that an afternoon of work can make for the worlds fastest McLaren. Okay, it didn’t take an afternoon of work, but with so much left on the table, you have to wonder how fast one of these cars can truly tackle the 1/4 mile. Are we soon to see a 7-second 570S? Only time will tell, but we have a feeling that will happen, along with some runway records, as well.
