The dream of the ’90s is alive in Italy, and it sounds like a quad-turbocharged V12.

NM2255 captured another 1990’s favorite romping on the dyno and taking to streets. This time the culprit is a 1994 Bugatti EB110, a car so cool that Michael Schumacher himself drove one. The 1990’s was a haven of boundary breaking supercars, and until the arrival of Gordon Murray’s McLaren, the EB110 was king. When the Bugatti EB110 first arrived to the budding supercar scene, it boasted a 3.5L V12 fitted with four turbos. So the question remains, is the EB110 still every ounce the weapon it used to be?

BIESSE Racing was the venue for the dyno test, an event requiring rollers for an all-wheel drive (AWD) application. The old Bugatti looked right at home in BIESSE’s dyno testing room, despite its age. The silver supercar sits low and wide with characteristic pill-shaped tail lights, body colored spoiler, and vent openings aplenty. More importantly, the pedigree of one of the world’s most excessive brands is plainly obvious from every angle of the EB110.

The EB110 is still a sight to behold both on the dyno and on the streets.

In 1994, the dramatically styled Bugatti EB110 produced a respectable 553 horsepower and 451 lb-ft of torque. This, coupled with AWD and aggressive turbocharging made for a mad sprinter capable of hitting 60 mph in around three and a half seconds. These figures are not only the work of 90’s performance benchmark, but remain impressive even by today’s standards.

The test itself was as straightforward as it was spectacular. The senior citizen supercar shouted up to a redline in the vicinity of 8,700 RPM. Although a classic compared to some of the regulars at BIESSE Racing, the Bugatti looked and sounded formidable on the rolling road. Unfortunately, the event culminated without displayed test results. One thing is clear though, the Bugatti looked, sounded, and accelerated like the 90’s excessiveness it was always meant to be.
