Stunning Mercedes Gullwing Helps Launch Premium Auction Service
Bring a Trailer launches its premium auction services suite by selling off its own, special 1956 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing.
Since the advent of the internet, selling a car has become easier than ever. You can use any variety of services to put your car in front of eyeballs around the world, often for the low cost of nothing. But if you’re peddling a high-end or vintage vehicle, listing it in the local classifieds just isn’t going to cut it. So Bring a Trailer, one of the more successful web-based buying/selling/drooling specialty car sites, is launching two new premium auction services to fill that niche. And they’re selling their own special Mercedes to help kick it off.
Bring a Trailer (BaT) has always been a cool place for car people to hang out, and it is chock full of interesting vehicles and often stunning professional photography. But their new premium White Glove and Plus services aim to take that experience to the next level.
White Glove gives sellers their own personal suite of services tailored to their own specific needs. That includes professional photography, of course, but also writing and curation of the listing itself. Pricing for this service varies depending on how far you take it. Plus listings are essentially the same as the existing original plan, which costs $99. For $250, BaT will send out a professional photographer to snag top quality pictures of your vehicle.
BaT obviously wanted to draw attention to their new services. And what better way to do that than by selling their very own 1956 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing? The three-owner U.S. import underwent an extensive restoration back in 2016, including a repaint in its desirable original Graphite Gray finish. Which just so happens to be the same color as the #417 Mercedes that John Fitch secured a class victory in at the 1955 Mille Miglia.
Currently, bidding for the gorgeous Mercedes is up to $1 million, with just over two weeks remaining. You can check it out (or bid!) by heading over to the BaT listing. Or, if you’ve got your own special car to sell, you can find more info on BaT’s premium services on their website.
