New BMW M6, More Details Come Into Focus
Our Teamspeed spies send us today another set of images showing the next generation M6 getting closer to it’s official reveal this fall. Shown here testing on massive 20 inch wheels the new M6 is expected to be revealed in September 2012, ahead of the 2012 Paris Motor show. These are the first batch of images sent to us exposing the lower part of the aggressive M-Style front bumper.
he 2012 M6 coupe will share the same 560hp 4.4L Twin Turbo V8 from the F10 M5. The monster 4.4-litre engine develops top output of 412 kW/560 hp at 6,000 – 7,000 rpm, while its maximum torque of 680 Newton meters (502 lb-ft) is on tap between 1,500 and 5,750 rpm. The rev limiter intervenes at 7,200 rpm. The rev band, which offers extremely dynamic acceleration between the arrival of peak torque and the availability of maximum output, is therefore almost three times as wide as that of the predecessor unit.
