McLaren 650s Runs Stop Sign, Gets Skateboard to the Windshield

At first glance of the video below, we see a shiny new orange McLaren 650s driving down the street, followed by a honk, glass breaking, and a passenger chasing after a skateboarder. Yep, the skateboarder smashed the window of this McLaren 650s. You must be thinking, “Wow, screw that skateboarder!” But lets take a look at the video again in detail.

The first time I watched this I took it at face value and didn’t notice the details, but that’s primarily because the person shot this in portrait mode. Aside from that heinous crime, I initially failed to notice that the McLaren was approaching a crosswalk and a stop sign, to which you can clearly see the driver failing to stop or even slow down. Instead he just rolls down the street until you hear a skateboard having to make an abrupt stop. Traditionally in this situation, a driver should say something along the lines of, “I’m sorry for almost running you over and not stopping at the stop sign, Sir.” Instead we hear what sounds like an inaudible, possibly NSFW insult towards the skateboarder followed by a smack of the windshield, and a high-speed chase on foot.

When you’re driving a car, you should really follow all the rules of the road, especially in a pedestrian-dense area. Nothing is more uncool than driving like a jerk and endangering the lives of the people around you. I definitely don’t condone damaging someone else’s vehicle, but I’m also not going to deny that the driver probably deserved what was coming to him. Did he deserve it? Do you feel any remorse at all for the owner, despite him driving like a jerk?
