Koenigsegg Agera RS Crashes During Testing Before Delivery
A custom commissioned Agera RS suffered an unfortunate fate at the hands of a pro driver.
In Trollhättan, Sweden recently, an Agera RS was undergoing some testing before being delivered to a customer in the U.S. Unfortunately, the car had a hard time staying on Koenigsegg’s runway-based test track. Motor Authority reports the incident happened when the driver lost control of the car. That’s right, it was deemed not to be a mechanical failure. But despite the picture of the damage, Koenigsegg has called the car repairable, with just cosmetic damage.
If you think you’ve seen the car before, it’s because it was commissioned by Manny Khoshbin. Of the 20 or so Koenigsegg’s to be made this year, his was specially commissioned in a unique black and gold, and nicknamed “Gryphon.” Manny didn’t take the news too badly, though, as he said the car would come back better than ever. He even hinted that Koenigsegg may add some additional improvements to his car.
Koenigsegg has done a considerable job with controlling their 1,300-hp beast in the past, as all of their U.S. bound production cars receive the same testing treatment. It’s not like there’s a whole load of spares lying around. So Manny’s wait for his Agera RS just got a little bit longer. We cant wait to see it on the road once it is completed.
