Incredibly Realistic Miura 1:8 Scale Model Makes a Beautiful Gift
Lamborghini’s Miura set a high standard for automotive design, and now you can harness that beauty on your desk top.
Ask ten people what they think the most beautiful car ever produced is, and nine of them will likely say the Lamborghini Miura. The Miura has quite simply become the standard for supercar design, one that manufacturers are still gauging themselves against today. Its styling is also quite a stark contrast to both traditional and modern Lamborghini design. The Miura is sleek, rounded, and curvaceous, rather than edgy and aggressive. Of course, they’ve also become incredibly popular collectibles for these very same attributes.
Thus, we’re really not surprised that Amalgam has created what might be the world’s greatest scale model of Lamborghini’s masterpiece. And it’s currently up for sale over at Uncrate. Presented in 1:8 scale, this work of art is based on the final model, the 1971 P400 SV. Amalgam worked with Lamborghini to ensure the details were perfect, and it truly shows. Modern techniques, including digital scanning, were used to accurately recreate every single little piece of the Miura in scale form.
The result is truly stunning. If you didn’t know any better, you’d think these pictures were of a real Miura. Everything from the vents to the wheels and trademark headlights look like the the real deal. Every lever, chrome trim piece, and switch in the interior is present and accounted for. As is the car’s V12 engine, which looks like you could fire it up at any given moment.
Amalgam’s masterpiece comes ready to display, mounted on a base and protected by an acrylic cover. The car’s model, branding, and edition number are displayed on the front of the base on a polished stainless steel plaque. And that’s an important distinction, obviously. Amalgam’s Miura recreation is limited to just 199 examples, so you’ll be one of a very few lucky folks to have one on your desk or mantle.
Of course, a scale model of this quality doesn’t come cheap. This particular Lambo recreation will set you back $11,995, in fact. But that’s obviously just a sliver of what a real Miura would cost you. And for those who appreciate fine automotive design, it’s worth the price of entry. After all, it’s hard not to be at least a little inspired when you focus on what are arguably the finest lines to ever grace a road-going car.
