Hit the Track in Style with this Factory-built Ferrari Race Car

Stunning 11,000-mile Ferrari F430 Challenge race car is ready to provide its next owner with plenty of on-track thrills.

The one-make Ferrari Challenge series was begun in 1993 and offered a venue where Ferrari owners could compete in race-prepped machines cars against other like-minded enthusiasts. The first series used the Ferrari 348, which at the time was Ferrari’s V8-powered production sports car. Over the succeeding years the series went on to feature the F355, 360 Modena, F430 and the 458. Currently the series is utilizing the turbocharged Ferrari 488. Modifications to the cars for the most part are related to safety. To make them suitable for wheel-to-wheel racing the Ferraris are fitted with roll cages, fire-suppression systems and the like. From 2006 to 2011 the series used the Ferrari F430 Challenge, which was already a formidable street car. The F430 Challenge used the same 4.3-liter V8 engine of the street car that produced 490 horsepower and was controlled though a 6-speed, paddle-shift F1 transmission. As fast as an F430 is in stock form, it only got faster when stripped of excess weight for use as a race car.

Over on the Racing Junk website, user Zlovoy is selling what is claimed to be a factory-built Ferrari F430 Challenge race car. The F430 has less than 11,000 miles, albeit probably from pretty hard use, as the car has presumably been utilized as a track weapon for its entire existence.  The purchase of the Ferrari includes four spare sets of wheels, a nitrogen jack system for quick and easy pit sessions and a factory torque wrench. The Ferrari received a new transaxle as well as new seals this year and the clutch is said to be at 87-percent. The fuel-cell is said to have been replaced about a year-and a-half ago. A cool suit system ensures the driver stays cool during hot track sessions and the seat is nearly-new Sparco Evo.

While the F430 wouldn’t be competitive or even eligible for use in the current Ferrari Challenge series, it’s perfect for club racing. Or just use it as one hell of a track day car. The car is located in Birmingham, Alabama and the seller is asking $95,000. That may seem like a lot of coin, but you’re talking about a genuine, factory built Ferrari race car.
