Ferrari Backs Guild Membership Drive
U.K. writers who join Guild of Motoring Writers could win a chance to drive a new Ferrari around Silverstone race circuit in September.
Ferrari North Europe is offering four people the chance to pilot a road-worthy Ferrari during the Ferrari Challenge U.K. meeting on September 22. It is part of a new Guild of Motoring Writers recruitment drive to attract fresh automobile journalists, editors, photographers, broadcasters, and authors.
New members who join the U.K.’s Guild of Motoring Writers this summer could win the chance to drive a new Ferrari sports car around Silverstone race circuit in September. As an added incentive, the guild member who nominates them will also be rewarded with a drive.
The names of everyone who is elected as a guild member between now and the middle of September will go into the drawing, with one writer and one photographer being chosen. Each lucky new member, along with the guild member who nominated them, will get to drive one of Ferrari’s latest models around the full Silverstone circuit for a series of laps accompanied by a professional instructor. The four guild members picked out of the drawing will also receive media accreditation and hospitality for themselves and a guest for the entire day.
Drivers have to be aged 25 or over. But those under 25 won’t miss out. They’ll be given a series of hot passenger laps with a professional instructor instead.
If you are not already a guild member, apply to join now and nominate an existing guild member to support your application by emailing honorary secretary Chris Adamson. If you are already a guild member and know of someone (or more than one person to increase your chances of earning the Ferrari reward) who is eligible for membership, send their details to Adamson who will start the election process. Application forms must be received at the guild by August 27, 2019.
The Ferrari experience is in addition to the many existing benefits of guild membership. Other benefits include a press photo ID card; entry in the Guild’s Yearbook, Who’s Who in the Motor Industry; entry on the guild website; access to a legal helpline; the chance to enter the annual awards with over $15,000 worth of prize money; and discounts on products and services such as computers, new cars, tires, insurance, ferry crossings, and tax advice.
