Jaguars from Classic Car Auctions’ Summer Sale that Make Us Purr
Rare big-bodied Jaguars and one promising classic make CCA’s upcoming August 3 sale one worth checking out.
Few cars combine luxury and performance quite like Jaguar. They make fantastic grand touring machines, not to mention beautiful objects to look at. Thus, we never grow tired of looking at all the various Jaguars for sale across the internet. And we unsurprisingly found a lot of them at Classic Car Auctions’ upcoming August 3 sale. So check out our picks below, and be sure and scope out all the upcoming lots by heading over here.
1991 Jaguar XJS HE ‘Le Mans’ V12
We all love a big cat, and this Le Mans edition XJS is one of the rarer examples ever built. Just 280 of these body kit-equipped Jaguars were produced, and this is number 223. This particular car has just 63k miles on the clock and is fresh off a complete restoration. And with an auction estimate of just $15-$17k, it’s also quite the bargain, too.
1990 Jaguar XJS V12 5.3 Coupe
Sporting a gorgeous gray exterior and just 31k documented miles, it’s hard to find any fault with this fine XJS. Especially when it also comes with a price tag of just $14-$17k. But that’s par for the course with these Jaguars, of course. They just haven’t caught on with the collector market, but that’s certainly a good thing for the rest of us, no?
1990 Jaguar XJS V12 5.3 Le Mans
As much as we love the red Le Mans above, we’d probably opt for this Le Mans Green example if we were going to throw our money at one of them. Mostly because, well, shouldn’t every British car be painted green? This one also comes to us in original condition with just 41k original miles.
1962 Jaguar E-Type S1 3.8 FHC
Of course, you can’t have a discussion about lustworthy Jaguars without including the E-Type. These cars trade for huge dollars these days, yet this one has a reasonable auction estimate of $31-$38k. Of course, it’s a project with little documented history. But truthfully, it’s more than solid enough to warrant performing the work that needs to be done here.
1991 Jaguar XJS Convertible 5.3 V12
Perhaps nothing screams Jaguar more than a big, V12-powered convertible. And that’s exactly what this ravishing red XJS offers up. With just 41k miles on the clock, it’s in exceptional condition. Which means that the new owner can enjoy many years of sunny cruising, if English weather permits, of course.
