Drag Classic: Mercedes CLS63 AMG vs Lamborghini Aventador

Now this is what a drag race should look like. Lined up on one side of the lights we have an Italian exotic, sitting next to it in the next lane, a lightly modified brute from Germany. Oh, the length of the race is also a full kilometer, to make sure both cars have enough room to really breath. This battle of CLS63 AMG versus Lamborghini Aventador is the kind of thing that kids stay up late arguing about when they should be studying for that math test the next day.
And then you see the timing results and you can’t figure out what the hell happened.
Rather than give a straight time for the run, the runs are presented as a pure racing time, followed by a racing time plus reaction time. What makes this weird is that the run is judged based on run time, and leaves the reaction time out of it. I understand that this practice removes the driver from the equation, but come on. The Mercedes had this thing in the bag at the quarter mile, and once you factor in reaction times, there is only .05 seconds in it. Not to mention the Mercedes was traveling at a quicker speed at both the ¼ mile and 1km gates.
Take a peek at this run video and tell me what you think. Did the Lambo win this fair and square, or did the Mercedes get robbed, at least of the ¼ mile title? Sound off.
