Are you an Aston Martin racer looking for that big break? Here it is!

Aston Martin Racing (AMR) launched their first Young Driver Academy back in 2015. And needless to say, it was a resounding success. The winner, Ross Gunn, is now the factory FIA World Endurance Championship team’s current reserve and development driver. So they’ve decided to do it all over again in 2019 in an attempt to find the next young racing star.

This time around, Aston Martin is aiming to fast track that process through their customer network. Eligible participants must be between the ages of 17 and 25. They must also be competing in partner and customer Vantage GT cars in recognized championships. Contestants will be judged on a wide range of criteria that includes pace, consistency, technical feedback and fitness.

Drivers will also be evaluated on their ability to manage the strategic, teamwork, commercial and public relations aspects of their role. Finally, the winning candidate must demonstrate the most potential to develop their talent for the future.

The goal of the Aston Martin Racing Young Driver Academy is to create healthy competition within the ranks. Which would in turn attract more young talent to the team in following years.

“This program will be invaluable to so many drivers with ambitions to race at Le Mans who have the talent but not always the means to reach their goal,” said Aston Martin Racing President David King. “We have seen plenty of them in our cars over the past two years and we relish the prospect of seeing them competing for our customer race teams throughout 2019 in pursuit of this prize.”

Interested drivers can submit their racing resumes to Aston Martin by March 1.
