Aston Martin Launches Duo of 007 Special Editions

Shaking up some style and stirring our emotions.

No car is more synonymous with James Bond than Aston Martin. In the entire cinema history of the franchise, Aston Martin is the featured car of James Bond in more than half of them. To celebrate the newest cinema experience for Bond, No Time To Die, Aston is launching two new Q by Aston cars. Dubbed the 007 edition, no one on planet earth will ever confuse these cars as anything but Bond-approved sports machines.

But let’s skip all the marketing fluff. Why should you care about a badge on the back of a new car? The reason to get excited about the 007 Vantage and the 007 DBS is that these are the best looking cars to ever come from the Q division, and they are loaded with so many subtle touches it borders on obsessive. Also there are only going to be 125 cars produced total between the two models. And no, they don’t come with any of that fancy new scotch.

Let’s start with the 007 edition of the V8 Vantage. The sheetmetal comes draped in Cumberland Grey paint and the grille is a unique mesh unit with chrome wrapped around the lip. It mirrors the look of the original Vantage from the 80s. The diffusers around the car see a splattering of yellow paint that mimics the look of the rockets from the film. You can even order a special set of skis and ski rack for the thing. The final touch is a vantage badge mounted on the side strakes.

Inside the 007 Vantage the interior is boring Obsidian Black, but Q spices it up with dark chrome accents. If you order the manual transmission (which you absolutely should) you get 007 branding on the center console. If you need some paddle shifters in your car, at least they come with crosshairs engraved on them. A laser etched plaque is also available that shows designs of all the gadgets from the film car. The last big change to the interior is the seats. They feature heritage style fluting with carbon backs, and on the rear of the headset is a set of small “f-holes” as a nod to the classic Bond cello chase scene. Another nerdy Bond touch is the embroidery of the 96.60 radio frequency on the sun visors. If you are out of the loop, that is the radio station of the Russian police from The Living Daylights.

Production of the Vantage is capped at 100 units.

If you liked the Vantage, the 007 DBS is even nicer. It’s also much rarer, with just 25 of the 007 cars making it off the production line. The paint is Ceramic Grey, and the exterior gets an extra dose of menace and aggression thanks to black tinted carbon fiber on the roof, mirror caps, splitter, diffuser and the rear wing. The 21-inch rolling stock is gloss black, with a diamond turned surface treatment on the y-spokes, and it absolutely sets the whole visual look of the car.

The cockpit is even more black leather, Aston even calls it “dark” and “brooding,” but there are red accents and slabs of carbon fiber everywhere to make it all feel more exciting. We expect nothing less than exciting from a car that comes loaded with two turbos strapped to a V12 engine.
