2017 Ford GT Testing in the Nude
A 2017 Ford GT was recently seen testing, without camouflage or paint, in what seems to be close to production trim.
The major body panels seem to be unchanged when compared to the concept car that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year. Only a handful of items are temporary placeholders, most notably the side view mirrors, but also the rear tail lights and exhaust tips. The front grille and rear diffuser were also missing, most likely because they’re still undergoing aerodynamic development.
Ford aims to bring about 95% of the design from the concept car to the production version and it looks like they’re keeping true to their goal.
Power is rumored to be in the area of 600 – 700 horsepower, coming from a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 EcoBoost engine.
Look for the new Ford GT to go on sale in late 2016 to the tune of $400,000.
