Our Teamspeed artists have been busy again, creating a first look at what Alfa’s beautiful little 4C sports car may look like in Spyder form.

The Spyder, which is a virtual certainty, would be powered by the same 1.75-litre, turbocharged four cylinder engine, which produces 215bhp. Expect acceleration to be slightly down on the Coupe, owing to more body bracing, meaning a 0-60mph time of around five seconds.

Of course, having a small turbo-four means fuel consumption will be excellent, and with a top speed of 155mph, the 4C Spyder should produce enough wind in your hair to keep those with toupes nervous.

Its compact dimensions (only four metres long) mean that it’s strictly a two seater, and despite it being rear-wheel-drive, don’t expect a manual transmission. It will use an efficient dual-clutch setup.

Because the body is all carbon-fibre, the 4C Spyder should come in under the metric tonne, meaning excellent handling and good braking performance.

It should be a cracker.
