1936 Bugatti Atlantic Type 57SC Highlights Stellar Monterey Lineup
Fans of vintage motorsports won’t want to miss Mullin Automotive Museum’s amazing lineup, Aug. 18-26, during Monterey Car Week.
If you’re into classic French cars or just gorgeous vintage autos in general, this year’s Monterey Car Week promises to offer up something extra special. Because for 2018, the Mullin Automotive Museum is bringing seven of the finest French classics ever produced to the world-renowned event, which takes place Aug. 18-26. Headlining this list of impressive machines is nothing less than 2018’s Peninsula Classics “Best of the Best” winner, this stunning 1936 Bugatti Atlantic Type 57SC, pictured above.
That gorgeous ride is one of only three ever built, making its appearance a truly unique opportunity. But guests of the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, and the legendary Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance have many other reasons to attend. Mullin is also bringing along a host of impressive classics, including a 1950 Talbot-Lago Type 26 Grand Prix (pictured above), 1963 Citroen DS19 Concorde, and several other rides from the museum’s collection.
“Each year, we select some of the the best motorcars to bring to the Monterey Peninsula,” said Mullin Automotive Museum Founder and CEO Peter Mullin. “Aligning with the museum’s mission statement, these classics should be enjoyed not only in an exhibit setting but also in shows around the world. We’re excited about this year’s showcase and hope passionate car enthusiasts in attendance will be equally ecstatic.”
Joining the virtually priceless 1936 Bugatti Atlantic Type 57SC, Talbot-Lago, and Citroen are a variety of notable cars. They include a 1925 Bugatti 35C Grand Prix (pictured below), which will pace this year’s Rolex Motorsports Reunion at Laguna Seca. A 1938 Talbot Lago Type 26 SS Roadster (pictured above) will also appear at that event. Mullin is also bringing a multiple endurance race-winning 1946 Delage D6 Grand Prix. And nothing less than a 1965 Citroen DS19 Majesty rounds out the incredible collection.
