Cool Watch Shopping: AP Safari, Navitimer World, Portuguese, Admirals Cup...

So I went to check out an AP Safari since it has been in my top 3 fav watches (safari, bumblebee & panda) for a few years now and have been wanting to buy one for almost as long so I finally decided to go to a dealer and try one on instead of just drooling at online pics and make the decision about getting one.
This ones band was a strange color i'd never seen before and wondered if it was sun/salt/chlorine damaged to be this light, to say the least I wasn't thrilled with its color. The piece however fits my wrist very well and is just the right size with the case and crown being in perfect condition.
Heres a few snaps of the strap, weird huh?

So I love the watch as much in person as I thought I would but I keep thinking for the same money i'd rather buy a new ducati 1199 (which I just might do anyways). I love the watch but would I rather have 3 or 4 other really nice pieces in its place?
I guess its the same way I feel about having an aventador/CGT. So I'm going to wait on my dream watch until I get married and hope for a nice wedding gift and get something nice or a few small watches until then. So I'm dying to get something new and more wrist worthy than my F1 TaG so i'm considering picking up one of these...............

New IWC Portuguese Automatic Chronograph Silver 41mm B P IW3714 17 Ret $7 400 | eBay

Corum Admirals Cup Chronograph | eBay

Breitling Navitimer World Silver Dial Automatic Mens Watch A2432212-G571BRCD

I think the portuguese covers any dress/formal event as well as just being classy and timeless

The Admirals Cup is just pure sport

The navitimer is a blend of business & sport styling and imo is a cheaper version of the safari with similar colors even tho it is a lot more "busy" looking.

What does everyone think of these or maby a few similar watches? What 3 pieces would you buy for under 19k total?

Maybe you don't know but this IWC is very simillar to Tag Heuer Carrera Heritage

That is half price of IWC.

Movement in this IWC is almost thesame as in TH.

Thanks but i'm trying to move out from tags. The only Tag's at this point i'd consider owning are the monaco 24 which is limited edt and very rare or a grand carrera 36 pvd with leather/alcantara strap.
That is very interesting about that carrera's movement being similar to the IWC for half the price.

I bought a Breitling Navitimer World like I posted but I got the black face instead of the white because it looks more like egg shell/dirty white in person.
Breitling Navitimer World Automatic Chronograph Black Dial Mens Watch A2432212-B726BRCD

I can't wait for this to come in on tuesday! My first real (entry level "high end") watch!

AP's have an amazing look and style to them. For the price you can get a great piece with much more advanced complications. AP is rated by some in the top 3 or top 5 in the world for quality build, I have heard. But to get one with any complications you will pay close to or over 6 figures.
I have an AP diver and love it (got it 40% off retail, on rolex forums), want an AP panda or safari but can't justify to myself to spend that much on it. My fav would be the singapore F1 but for 45k, no way.
Also bothers me that all these rap songs and rap guys are into AP's.

Nice thread going there but i'm looking for watches at least 1 or 2 notches above everything in there, maby start a thread for 4-8k?

I ordered this the night of the 1st post at midnight and got an extremely good deal I had to pounce on!
It just arrived and I snapped a few pics... not very good however, I'm very happy with the attention to detail in it and for how nice this is compared to the price of the safari I think I made the right decision to pursuit a handful of nice pieces instead of one "ultimate" piece.
I am in LOVE with the strap on this thing!

I've a lot of time on my hands as of recent and have been spending a solid 3-5hrs a day just reading and researching watches, I think they have become my 2nd passion behind motorsport.

looks like that is not at an AP AD? the strap looks aftermarket, i guessed not an AD cause the tag says "box and papers" and has the new MSRP but thats not a new model.

as far as ducati, i think the proper AP owner has the Ducati already.. so the AP is an easier decision..
