Your personal "goal" watch

I think as collectors/enthusiasts/etc we often strive to get to some peace of mind place where at the same time we feel achievement in that we conquered our addiction by getting to the goal (and then setting a new one!) as well as an "arrival" of sorts into a league of experts.

I think people do it with every hobby/collection/addiction. Lets talk about the horology one.

Mine is the Patek 5130. Besides being financially out of reach giving me something to for its also probably the most elegant watch I know size/design/etc wise. As someone who actually uses world time complications (apps, outlook reminders, whatever I can get my hands on!) I can't wait till I own one of these...

If I can get one of these, I'll be good, I think. I'd feel weird wearing anything bigger or more expensive. The look is timeless as well.

Great watch. Absolutely love Patek.

A Patek of some variety would be mine. Got too many other things I like to spend money on right now to devote that much to. But maybe five to ten years? A perpetual calendar of some variety...

Concrete, near-term goal: SS Black-face Daytona (before I'm 25, which gives me 20 months). I won't get one before I get a GT3, though - I would regret the decision every time I saw a GT3. I also don't want to sell the 993 to get a GT3, so these goals will be hard to achieve.

Beyond that, I have no clue. There will be others as I age.

I don't really have any "halo" watches. I do like way, way too many ones, but the super exotic stuff I kinda treat like Lambos. I look at AP's, and they're cool and all, but I don't really want one because I can't justify the $30K+ pricetag. Kinda like I don't really care how much HP a Superleggera has, because it might as well have 3000 wheel.

Hi,

I'm with Alzilla. Maybe later in life the aspirations will be higher, but a speedmaster would make my year.

Cheers,
Nik

SoCal is an unknown quantity at this point
I've had my "goal" watches, Rolex Deep Sea and a black faced Daytona, and it did nothing for me after the first month.

I think that I will get another Deep Sea and that will be my last $10K watch; I don't care for any others except for the AP Diver.
