Suggest a First Panerai?

Hello guys! Since I value pretty much everyone that posts in here's opinion, and since you guys helped me pick my last watch purchase (IWC), I thought I'd pose another question.

I like diversity in my collection, because I really see the correlation between watch/vs/mood. So it makes sense to have a lot of different kinds. I have my work watch B-Emergency and my play watch IWC-Pilot XVI, so this can be anything in between I suppose.

It seems Panerai's are well enjoyed on here, so I was wondering what would make a good first. I'm probably a year or two out for my next purchase, but you all know the sickness.. you never stop "looking"

I do like the "PAM" models, but they all look different and I don't get what makes them a "PAM" if they actually are different pieces?

Thanks in advance guys!

SoCal is an unknown quantity at this point
Go with a Luminor base model, like a 000, 005, 111, or 176. All can be had used for around $4k or less.

Costco even has a few models of Panerai now. Luminor base at least.

Get a radomir it's one of the best looking line of Panerai's or I'd recommend something else like a Rolex Submariner ( blue chip watch ).

I am starting to like those actually! I swore I was too young to care about Rolex's and Golf... so I guess liking golf is next!

Wow, nice! That's exactly my range. I'd rather have a few 3-6K pieces to choose from than one $35K AP.

That is very interesting! Imagine going to Costco and coming out with a Panerai!

The 312 is my fav, but would take a used ss black dial submariner over it any day. You can get a used ap diver for around 13k.

312 is my choice too.

In house movement, no cyclopse, sandwich dial. Best of everything.

It all depends on the size of your wrist and the size timepiece you prefer to wear.
