Sitting at the hospital with my uncle and what do I see on his wrist but the Pepsi gmt. Get to talking watches and my aunt bought it for him in 76 he says. I ask for how much at the time and she says $700. Wow!

Thanks. I told him if he ever decides to get rid of it I'd be happy to buy it from him. Would love to have a watch like that with history and it being kept in the family.
He said he had it service in NY at Rolex but it doesn't keep time still.

awesome story
hope nothing serious got you guys in the hospital in the 1st place!
hmm any idea what kind of service was done? i'm sure you can take it yourself even to an independent who can fix it up like new.
a few years ago i took my dad's 1978 Datejust for a service at the local AD and it now runs great. it was a present to him from my grandpa on mom's side when they got married so i share your excitement for a watch with history in family

sorry guys but i think this is the best thread to ask for now
i am in the process of mixing up my collection in terms of colour and thought it would be cool to try this:
can anyone hook me up with a Pepsi bezel that will fit a Z serial GMTII (top of pic)
i am under the impression that it is "impossible" to get the AD to do this, and i am yet to re/search TZ and co. figured i would ask here first
