188 has a polished bezel, 251 has brushed.
188 has pure white dial, 251 has off-white dial.
188 has number markers, 251 has dots.
188 was original white dial Daylight and first ever white dial chrono in a 44mm from Panerai. 251 came out in April 2006.
Finding a like new 188 in mint condition is tough as they have not made them in 2 years now. They are a collectible.
