type of movement really doesnt make a difference to me.. Just brought up the daytona since it was on my list of watches I always wanted to own. Now Im not so sure.

The movement is fantastic in the calibre, it has ceramic bearings, thus giving it a longer span between services, its very accurate, had good size, but thin enough t fit under a cuff. i personally like it on a strap but the bracelet is very popular as well.
you can interchange them, but its not the most simple thing, there are some other tiny parts you need to change them, one goes on with screws, one spring bars.

No one tackled the resale value so I will do my best. Cartier holds its value pretty well compared to many brands for a couple of different reasons. First they are well known and have great name recognition. Second they have reduced margin to their dealers so they are discounted less from new. Most brands are 45 back brands. Cartier is a 37 back brand. If I had to guess I would say in a few years if you have to dump and I mean dump the watch would be worth 40 percent of its current retail, however if you were going to sell it own your own I bet it would keep at least 55 percent of its value. Please keep in mind my crystal ball has been wrong before

thanks to all for the very useful info.
torn between a Cartier Calibre and an IWC vintage portofino. Really need to see both in person this weekend and then drag my feet for months like I usually do
