Heading over to AD now to try on all three, will report back which I go with. Thanks guys for the input.

I agree the movement on the Lange is something special, also going to look at a Lange 1 moonphase.

The thing about the Nautilus line is, in picture and online it looks bland and uninteresting. But in person, they are so sharp.

Get an ALS 1815 chrono, white face, blue hands, wg case, and I can live vicariously through you! Take pics of them on your wrist and post 'em.

Exactly. Once I saw one in person it took my love for the watch to another level. The way the light reflects off the face is beautiful!

So, recap of my visit.

Some tourists from China bought the Zeitwerk and the 5712R at face +5%... amazing.

So instead of the 5712R, we looked at the Nautilus chrono, moreso to get a feel for the color of the gold.

5726A: am continually falling for this watch. The annual calendar is so simply designed into the layout of the piece. Just the idea of going 40+ for a steel watch on a band irks me a little, even though it shouldn't.

5146G: has such a clean classic look to it. The problem for me, is having so many 40+mm watches, it's hard to get used to the size. I imagine that I could easily, but I still have an apprehension towards it. Hard to imagine wearing a BP one day and going down that far in size.

5980R: love the RG in person, but not sold on the dial. Whereas the 5726 almost feels like it's not even on your wrist, the added size of the chrono really lets you feel it. However, I tried this on more to get a better feel for the RG.

I still can't decide between a 5726A and a 5712R. the 5726 is allegedly harder to find, but I do like the Annual Calendar. The 5712R is aesthetically more pleasing, but honestly, I prefer a light colored dial for RG. So I'm still stuck.

Then my guy showed me something from AP.... only in print. I'm heading up to the AP NYC boutique on Thursday to check it out. Will keep you guys posted. Could be a winner, and I totally didn't expect to like this one.

The guy in the pic must have small wrists, the 40mm looks huge on him. Amazing pics though

Nice pics and write up. 5146G on brown strap is my grail so I would completely recommend that. Between the Nautili (?) I would go with the 5726. The dial is much cleaner looking, and in that price range I would go with annual calendar with moon phase as I have never used a chronograph but often times forget the day of the week (and would rather look at my watch than phone)! BTW - did none of those fit under your cuffs or were you placing them like that to get a whole watch in the picture?

Agreed on multiple points. the RG model I would get would definitely be the 5712, not the chrono. I intentionally tucked the cuff in so you guys could see the whole watch.

I still think I would go with the 5726 - I love the aperture display for the annual calendar, the center seconds, and my personal taste is the more symmetric dial. To me, the seconds hand on the 5712 looks sort of like an after thought. However, if you are jonesing for RG, that is a fine piece and I would get it over an AP ROO RG.
