Bo Jawan goes shopping for a Grand Prix
many of you will have noticed that i have been nagging a lot about the GP asking a lot of questions, PMing gulf members, and harassing sellers online with emails
i woke up today thinking i would have to go get some government paperwork done for my daughter's birth certificate, but skipped that because i am still exhausted from how this week went down
taught a 2hr lec at work, met up with a friend at the office, decided we should go have lunch, and later went to the same mall as where the AP boutique is to get something nice that i wish to give as presents to my two witnesses at my marriage (my uncle, and my wife's grandfather), and while at it show my friend the GP because he dissed it when i showed it to him in pics. nothing about buying it from the boutique was ever seriously on the table.
once i had it in my hands again, i turned to the salesman and told him that i am now considering it and i want him to make me an offer. 5 minutes later, i hear a number i like, without calling up management (my in-laws), it weighs on me that it's either now or never. i have been waiting for a week for an owner to come back from traveling to inspect a watch he was putting up (LNIB) for sale.
i bought my first AP a month before i KNEW i was going to ask for my wife's hand, knowing that i would not be able to afford it after marriage. and so, i thought it was fitting that i mark my daughter's birth with a more spectacular present to myself, knowing that such a purchase would be impossible a year from now.
alas, here it is
one last thing: please, please, please, P L E A S E somebody make a folding clasp for those 44mm
PLEASE
hope you enjoy the pics

Huge congrats! There is something so satisfying about wanting something for an extended amount of time, and then finally having it. I went through a similar situation with my Big Pilot, and I still appreciate it and love it today just as much as I did before I purchased it.

Congratulations abound! I am not normally a huge fan of AP's, but certainly have a fine appreciation and respect for them, but the one now on your wrist is something I could see myself wearing. It truly catches the eye and has such fine details...Enjoy!
