Hi Gang,

A best friend from high school is currently serving in Army in Afghanistan and his birthday is coming up. Our group of HS friends want to send him a nice gift. Another friend who is also in the military (and will be deployed within a year, was just commissioned with graduation/ROTC) suggests a watch - with GPS.

So, as watch noob, I ask for your recommendations. Don't know anything about watches, including that they even have GPS! I don't know what our budget is because I don't know how many of us are pitching in. But I would think 5 or so @ $100/each. So in that range (I know that's probably not even the cost of a tune up on many of yours).

Not exactly what you are looking for and I'm not sure if it has GPS but I bought one a couple weeks ago and It's the only watch I've worn since.

 

I got a luminox last week and will be putting it through the ringer when I head back to my rig in about a week and a half.

 

What model did you get?
