"good, solid craftsmanship from Schaffhausen"

In the mail today I got my IWC Pilot Chronograph!! Needless to say, I am overjoyed. I have been wanting an IWC for awhile now and decided to make the plunge.

Before we get into the pictures, I just need to take a second to thank Dana (barrister) for all his help. When I had decided I was going to buy this watch I was in a small quandary, as the closest AD is 6 hours away. So, I shot Dana a PM asking what online retailers he trusted to buy a new watch from. He instantly got back to me, saying that the online place he would use doesn't have it, moreover he thinks the salesman he gets his watches from could be helpful. I was expecting a name and a number. Before I know it Dana has called his guy and set up an appointment to meet with him. After a few phone calls with Dana (very friendly!) and text messages, he goes to the store grinds his guy for a deal, then has him call me. Terms are good- done deal!. Dana went above and beyond brokering the deal for me.

Now back to the watch. I absolutely love it. The day/date feature and the classic pilot style are perfect, and 42mm is a great size for daily use. I couldn't be more happy. Having a mechanical chrono is cool, and the 30 min dial is very easy to read.

Ooooh yeah! Such an underrated chrono, congrats. Make sure there's no red arm hair in those lugs
