Thanks again everyone. I need some input on the strap. I am thinking about one of these, any thoughts?

These are all Rob Montana straps. The first two are from the Italian vintage collection, with and without rivets.

These two are from the pilot collection, with and without rivets. I would get it without the pyramid stitching on the tongue end.

I would probably get it made out of this leather:

I appreciate all input, which stitch pattern, leather, +/- rivets.

Rob just made me some key chains Kevin. I love his stuff. I actually have an extra Strap that doesn't fit anything I have. I should measure it for you. I like Rob's stuff makes the watch really feel different.

^^^ Kevin, I think I would go for one without rivets and definitely without the crown tang - although I do like the strap that the *** crown is on.

^^ Mark, those keychains are freakin awesome!

Do you think pilot style stitching or the classic style? I can't decide. I agree, I have been thinking of no rivets. I am looking into getting a IWC deployant, but those cost and arm and a leg.

Mark- those are bada$$ cool that you had those made!!

Yeah, brand name deployant buckles cost a fortune. I think the pilot style stitching looks a bit off without the rivets, just my opinion, of course. Also, don't lose sight of how thick some of these are.

Great point, that is why I want it made from the leather in the last pic because it is thinner. Since this isn't a BP, the huge straps would look off. Right now I am thinking of the first one I posted.

Found this online. Rob M pilot on IWC pilot chrono.

This is 21 at lugs and taper LARGER to 22 at buckle. I'm not a fan. For this watch I would want 21 at lugs to 18mm at buckle, the standard design.

Here is a big pilot with big pilot strap:

^^ Do not taper larger! Also, was just thinking that I don't think deployants work well with anything over 3mm thick. Probably depends on the style of the deployant clasp though. May save you some dough or impact your decision.

Nice watch Kevin, the IWC watches have been my favorite since my father gave my older brother an Portuguese F.A. Jones last year.

Enjoy the watch!
