Sounds like a Royal figure was coming to snatch up his new piece. The beauty of the US is we don't have Royal Figures and our President would need 5 years salary to pay for it

i think i read that the 2 most expensive watches were PPs (obviously?) that sold for over $11m each
in auctions of course, but still
