I like this new watch though, mostly because it closely resembles something I picked up earlier this month....
$125 with a swiss ETA 2824-2 movement? The movement alone retails for more than this so i really doubt it. A watch that cost less than the movement alone... I think you would be getting very little watch. Keep in mind there are from what i have seen at least 5 different chinese copies of the ETA 2824 movement out there. The one in your picture is Seiko so would have a Seiko movement. They only use their own movements.

I really like this piece. I think you should put the date at the 3 o'clock instead of crooked at 430.

Ok I just ordered one. I've never been a watch person, I'm still wearing the Seiko my wife bought for me 8 years ago.

Two errors, one by me, one by you.

I made the mistake of misreading the movement, and retract my statement of being able to purchase an 2824-2 movement equipped for $125. You can however buy very good automatics for around that price range.

I never said my watch had that movement. I simply compared the design. I'll stay out of the rest of this thread as I don't want to look like I'm crapping on your design.

Cheers.

No worries at all! In the $125 range you can get some Seiko automatics or some watches with basic Miyota autos as well as many chinese automatics. Many are very good movements actually! The only one that stands out as bad is the claro semag movement. tagged as "swiss made" it's a very basic chinese movement reassembled in Switzerland. The 2824-2 we use you can find in many Breitling, Cartier, Festina, Fortis,Maurice Lacroix, Oris, TAG-Heuer, Tissot and many other Swiss brands.

SoCal is an unknown quantity at this point
I just know that the M16 is one of the best watches I have ever owned. That is why I keep buying them every time I see one for sale. And this watch is like the M16 on steroids, so I may end up with one of these as well.
