Budget Watchmaker's Watches...

Grey market has to be shops like Dana mentioned. Bernard watch. Wingates watches as well. Lots of used watches but unauthorized firms. Typical savings is there. They even have new in the box but ended up with the watches after possibly Ad's or manufactures wanted them out of the door.
European watch in Boston always has some good stuff as well. I have never traded a watch in but they must not give much to sit on some of these pieces for ever.
Lots of PP's for example on the market with only really a handful of AD's that carry them

^Look up 3-4 posts... Ok, back on topic.
Lum-Tec is a great brand, and I really love both of these. The M-automatics are awesome watches, and fairly cheap if you can find them. Plus I have both of them but the M17 is already sold and the M16 will be up for sale again soon.

Anytime you can get a CSOC mechanical movement for under $2,000 you have made a good buy.
When I first started collecting watches I went after the precious metals and bling.
After studying the art of watches, I realized that 90% of a watch's value is in the movement and various complications.
Obviously, if you can match precious metal and a fine movement then you have the best of both worlds.
That Lum-Tec is a perfect example of a great watch at an affordable price. I love it.
