Certainly makes its presence known to you while wearing it. I dont mind that. The weight would just make it more comfortable for me. I like metal straps more because it doesnt stick to my skin. I tend to perspire unless there is air moving over me, which is no good with leather or synthetic straps that. When sized to fit they tend to bind.
