Hmm
Many that know me have seen me express interest in this watch over the years:
MEN ROLEX 2TONE 18K GOLD/STEEL SUBMARINER DATE BLUE SUB - eBay (item 140472324324 end time Nov-09-10 18:21:47 PST)
Kinda gone off it and am considering this:
ROLEX 18kt Gold Submariner Blue Dial MSRP $28,000 16618 - eBay (item 330489975386 end time Nov-07-10 06:15:15 PST)
or
MENS ROLEX SUBMARINER 18K SOLID GOLD BLACK DIAL 16618 - eBay (item 350408437255 end time Nov-04-10 17:21:56 PDT)
Thoughts?
I'll probably end up with an AP but am thinking about buying the Rolex and a smart suit watch next year, something like:

My thoughts: Never understood two tone watches for men, either you get steel, or you get gold. Just my oppinion.
I'd do Black/YG if I were you, Blue/YG is tacky for some reason I don't know why. The black YG is a real mans watch, see this documentary and you'll see which watch he ends up with: The Luxury Channel
Having said that, everyone and their mother in London or EU for that part has a Rolex so I'd say spend your hard earned $ on a RG or YG AP chrono, just stay away from the diamonds

Very true but like Rob said, it's got some real old school style to it. I prefer the all gold version these days.

Daytona in 2-tone can swing both ways. Robert's sounds nice, but my uncle has the two-tone with white dial and it's not very good looking. I personally like the two-tone Daytona with the gray dial a lot, it's has a very art-deco feel.
