Tough choice. The Grand Carrera in the pic is a pretty awesome looking watch. Panerai might have a little more prestige than Tag Heuer,and I'm not sure about the price difference, but I'd rather have the Tag. I guess. Like I said, tough choice.

Why would I have to buy a watch I don't like in order to figure out if I liked it or not? The last time I was at a local jeweler to pick up a watch I had serviced, the sales rep was talking to me about PAMs and I politely explained I wasn't interested. I have no intention of buying something I don't find appealing. My sub is my daily and does what I need it to do.

That wasn't meant in a negative way. You said you can't get into them. I was just pointing out that if you owned one, you might feel differently. I didn't like Breitling until I bought one and then I loved it. I LOVE Rolex's, but none of them fit my huge wrists except for the Deep Sea, and the bracelet on that is too small for my taste... Whatever floats your boat bro.

I like the panerai better but the tag is a stunner and it's huge in person. Also, I beleive the grand carerra has the new Tag in house movement where the 176 still uses an ETA movement. The carrera is also COSC certified I beleive.
