A few months back I showed a friend the tag grand carrera calibre 36 model that does 100ths of seconds. He thought it was awesome. Fast forward to yesterday and he comes over to show me. Sure enough, he has the watch on his wrist, bought for $75 from a chinese replica site. Bastard! Its not bad either, it passes at a glance, you have to really look at it to see its fake. I gotta find a new sport/everyday watch to lust after now, can't have the same watch as a friend you'll be hanging out with all the time.

I would still buy the real thing. If his is a fake, it's not the same thing as you having the real deal.

 

Given my experience with TAGs the Chinese replica will probably last twice as long as the real thing.

 

Just go look for a new friend instead.

 

Get the real one and just rub it in that his is a fake every time you see him.

Remind him that buying fakes is as good as sending a check to terrorists or mafia...as all of these are coming out of the underworld (for obvious reasons) and funding illegal activity worldwide. Not to be on my soapbox, but read McMaffia and you'll see what I mean.
