Two-tone watches

Is there something against two-tone watches on these forums? If there is, can someone explain it? I've always thought the blue dial Rolex submariner with steel and gold is the best looking Rolex, and I saw a thread asking about, and it seems that people prefer all stainless steel watches. Why is that?

The bluesie is ok, but I find steel and gold watches gauche and grandfatherish.

Being under 30 I am way too young to pull it off (but Jamie being 60-something could) and I find them terribly small at 40 mm, but the Serti dial sub is sickkkkkkkkk.
