Tried to pick up a JLC Master Compressor.

I was shocked to find that my AD guy was only offering about a 5% discount!

It is the first time I have ever walked out on a watch purchase.

We were over $1,000 apart on price.

I may have to start going to the Internet for my watch purchases now.

Disappointing.

You are a Tourneau guy right? Last time I went in the woman I talked to said they are pretty much done discounting the way people were used to before (15-40% brand dependent). They figure they won't lose much in sales since they are AD and all that good stuff and people should pay a premium price for a premium experience. Pretty disappointing overall since everyone knows how huge the markups are in the watch world.

Oh yeah, I don't give up – the JLC MC is a great looking piece.
