This is my watch, 18th birthday tomorrow and wanted a proper watch, it is a Tag Heuer Formula 1.

A power reserve button just moves the hands around to let you know how much Kinetic power is built up in the movement of the watch. In other words, it tells you how much juice is left.

Is it just because the left hand is reserved for hygiene and is supposed to be considered "unclean"?

I guess that would make sense.
