Caribbean vacation: where to go?

Looking to go on vacation very soon, anywhere in Caribbean. I need suggestions. Has to have good swimmable beaches, but besides that, I'm all ears.

Do you scuba dive? What activities besides a nice beach are important to you? Golf? Gambling? Nightlife? Hiking? Isolation?

Unfortunately will not have dive license in time for trip. Mostly looking for a nice place that's not too touristy, but an island that still has some life on it and some culture. I would like to be able to go into town and spend some time as well as eat at some good restaurants. Back to the diving, I'd still like to have good snorkeling/freediving as an option.
