EXPLORE

Setai Hotel- “Summer at the Setai”
South Beach, Florida

With Memorial Day behind us, Miami’s Setai Hotel is set to unveil its "Summer at The Setai" program. An intimate oceanfront resort in the heart of South Beach, The Setai features tropical gardens and sparkling pools gracefully fused with the Asian traditions of simplicity and elegance.
The Restaurant at The Setai celebrates the summer initiative with the premiere of a new pre-fixed menu by Executive Chef Jonathan Wright, that highlights some of the new flavors over four courses and can be paired with "Hidden Values From Around The World," an extensive wine collection offering 55 bottles of wine.

Cabrito
New York, NY

Just in time for Cabrito's spring opening, the space previously home to BarFry has transformed into a funky, laid back neighborhood bar and restaurant. With its seasoned staff, stellar location and rock n' roll vibe, Cabrito, which means little goat, is sure to become a West Village staple for outstanding Mexican fare, creative cocktails and an all around good time. Chef David Schuttenberg's (Craft, Fatty Crab) menu consists of both traditional dishes as well as innovative twists on Mexican classics. Additionally, Cabrito features a wide variety of tequilas and mezcals and although there is an impressive cocktail list, the Cabrito boys prefer theirs banderas style: a shot of tequila, a shot of fresh, spiced tomato juice and a shot of fresh lime juice. Equally as tantalizing and definitely a must- the Watermelon Margarita. Although there is a “no reservation” policy, Four Hundred members need not worry…

Katsuya
Hollywood, California

In keeping with the personality and design of its flagship Brentwood location, Katsuya’s second outpost at the corner of Hollywood and Vine also features the dynamic pairing of master sushi chef Katsuya Uechi and world-renowned designer Philippe Starck. A slight departure from the original, the décor at this locale will be a bit more provocative – a reflection of its Hollywood environs - where patrons can choose from several seating areas, either in by the Sushi Bar, or the more moody Dragon Lounge with lounge-type seating.

S Bar
Hollywood, California

An intimate neighborhood lounge, the Philippe Starck designed S Bar strikes the perfect balance between cultured sophistication and raw energy. Located in the heart of Hollywood, this soulful loft-like locale features an array of mismatched furnishings and inverted lamps suspended from the double height ceiling. S Bar offers some of the most delicious and creative cocktails in town from SBE’s renowned specialty cocktail program, featuring fresh, organic juices and an array of unusual ingredients.

Bungalow 8
London, England

Pushing ahead with a two-decade old tradition of bringing unrivaled entertainment to the world’s foremost cosmopolitan cities, Morgans Hotel Group and New York nightlife diva Amy Sacco opened Bungalow 8, in London’s St Martins Lane. Bungalow 8 London is a ground-breaking, world-class club catering to an international and discerning clientele.

Organic shaped leather banquets create intimate alcoves. Downstairs, the low ceiling and the use of rich velvet create a soft and sexy atmosphere.

FEATURE FOUR HUNDRED

Duncan Quinn
New York, NY

Duncan Quinn is New York's answer to Savile Row, featuring hand crafted clothing for discerning characters described by GQ as “Savile Row meets Rock 'n Roll”. Gathering skilled artisans from around the world, Quinn’s vision is exhibited through his every day ready-to-wear items and his handcrafted one-off bespoke pieces.

A Four Hundred Lifestylist sat down with Mr. Quinn and this is what he had to say:

FH: What inspired you to begin designing in the first place?

DQ: I always loved great tailored suits with a late 60’s inspiration. When I started to get bored with having to go to London to get them cut for me I started working on getting a store open in New York extending what I had been an interest in making suits for myself into something a little more serious….

FH: Where do you draw your inspiration from? (or who is your visionary)

DQ: The basic inspiration comes from the Michael Cain films of the 60’s-Get Carter, The Italian Job and That ILK, with an overlay of the sounds of the times with The Who, The Clash, The Rolling Stones, together with more modern and local inspirations for each collection of ready-to-wear…..

FH: What is your favorite piece of ready-to-wear thus far?

DQ: Probably our oversized Fleur De Lys Ties…

FH: If you weren't in the fashion industry, what would you be doing?

DQ: Still making suits, shirts, ties and other items for myself-but probably not having quite the luxury of time to do that with what I do right now…
