W hotel in Times Square

the Soho Grand is a very nice hotel at the outskirts of Soho, the Mercer is in the heart of Soho, both very nice hotels. The Mercer is frequently full, but vacancies are available at the Soho Grand and both are comparably priced. They are great in the daytime, but as far as touristy goes, neither is situated for nighttime ventures.

I've stayed at the W... And loved it! Modern outfit, ultra comfortable beds, great service, good food from the restaurant downstairs, and right in the middle of times square.
I've never walked into a hotel lobby that doubled as a lounge bar before. I've stayed at quite a few hotels, and this one differentiated itself! Highly recommend.

I stayed there and its great. TimesSquare isnt as bad as people make it out to be. If you arent from NYC and do go there often, then you will get a kick out of it --- def will want to spend time in other areas, but its still fun.
I would also look at the Mandarin in Columbus Circle.....VERY cool hotel in a KICK AZZ location...
