Enjoy yourself Pinned! Sounds like a great vacation is waiting. +1 on Greece, but its hard to go wrong in this situation.

 

This is pretty much what I want to do. I've never been, but the friend I'm going with happens to be an experienced traveler. He wants to go to some places that he hasn't been before, and I'm more than happy to travel outside the scope of normal tourist stuff (though the BMW and Porsche museums are a must).

Anyone have any thoughts about spending some time in Japan?

 

If you go to Greece make sure to do your homework before, the political climate is f' up there right now since their economy is down the drain. I wouldn't visit the big cities if I were to travel to Greece.

 

Japan if they fly there. Most expensive tickets to find. Looks awesome to me

 

Avoid Europe if you're planning on traveling in January. Unless you like crap weather.

+1 The weather really sucks in January. The only thing I like to do in January is go somewhere else.

I think I would go to Australia or India; big cities and really nice places if you like the nature.
