Where to go in Ireland?

My wife and I are planning a trip to Ireland in April, probably for about 8 days. Where should we go? Any recommendations on places to stay?

Thanks in advance.

You have to go to Dublin! Eat the chicken wings at Elephant & Castle, Guinnes brewery as mentioned before.

Do you play golf? In that case there are a lot of nice courses there. Recommendations are Old Head, Portmarnock and Bally bunion.

Depends on what you want to do and budget I guess. The Merrion Hotel is nice and central.

So did you go in the end? Did you also go to Northern Ireland? Maybe for next time you could check out the Britain's National Tourism website. They have tons of places to visit in the Uk on their pages.
