We just did the Southampton - NY 7 day crossing on the Queen Mary 2 and I can thoroughly recommend it. Everything from the food to the accommodation was terrific. It's not a party boat but really is about elegance and dressing up etc... but then again they did let me on!

There's enough space on this boat to steer clear of people (which we wanted to) and have the type of crossing you want. My first time and I thought I'd share my experience with you. PM me if anyone wants more info.
