Where to go??

I've got a $750 credit with United that is about to expire, Oct 21. I'm looking to get away. Don't really have a place in mind. I have an additional 45,000 points I can use towards this trip. Thinking of a long weekend. Leave on a Thursday or Friday night and come back Tuesday. Any suggestions? Looking for a place that's relatively cheap to stay but fun to visit this time of year. I'd even be open to a house swap for my pad in Pac Hgts San Francisco, dogs and car included.

Well, what do you like to do? Maybe we can do better after we know what you're looking for. sitting on the couch, scuba diving, sky diving, eating a boat load of food, gambling - that kinda thing...

Maybe Alaska or somewhere in Canada might be fun? Don't know if going south at this time of year would be your thing or not...

I'm up for anything. I've been to 12 different countries now and if I can find a RT flight for $750 plus my points overseas I'd be up for that as well. Just not sure what is good weather wise this time of year. I went to South Africa in August one year. I was not prepared to be layering sweaters and socks. I guess I'm curious if ya'll had to go somewhere for fun in September or October, where would it be?

United does have some specials to Canada and I haven't been since I was a toddler so it would feel like the first time.

Acapulco. Hands down. The night life is nuts and the restaurants are awesome.

Don't come to Canada right now. Well, eastern Canada at least. Weather has been crap all summer. If you want to visit a place that looks like the soviet union circa 1955, this is where you want to be. Gray, slight drizzle all the time ... overall horrible.

I'm more interested in the West coat / Rockies myself ...

United to London is $866 round trip. Find a friend to go with and go to Goodwood Revival.
