Honeymoon in the Bahamas? Where to go?

Like the title says, where do we go? We are thinking about Atlantis, because we are younger and they have fun stuff and private functions. We would stay there for a week, then where do we go? We heard good things about Turks and Cecos? I cant spell, but you know the island.

A few things, Atlantis is appealing to us because the island offers an all inclusive package that is reasonable. My fiance and I are both in the credential program right now, so money is kinda tight for us.

Any suggestions that are in the islands? Preferably a romantic place, we would spend 4-7 days there. Also US currency is a must, the exchange rate sucks.

Not sure when your going so can't check exact rates. But at a guess prob about 8-9k for 6-7 nights? Also not sure RE: climate.

And it is a sick website.

SpunkyGiraffe? Seriously? I assume you will be getting married in Massachusetts or California. (not that there's anything wrong with that . . .)

You can't go wrong with Atlantis. I would also check out The Cove at Atlantis The Cove Atlantis - Home , it's a great place and I believe they have a special for $500 for 4 nights. If you want to go somewhere nice and romantic, and slightly more quiet, check out the Pink Sands Welcome to Pink Sands Resort on the famous Pink Sands Beach in Harbour Island, Bahamas , or my favorite there Coral Sands CORAL SANDS HOTEL - Harbour Island Bahamas on Pink Sands Beach . These are both located in Harbor Island, which has the most amazing beaches.

For something more private and romantic try Kamalame Cay - Private Island Resort Bahamas Holiday Andros Island Gourmet Caribbean Cusine Fly Fishing Diving .

There is also the Four Seasons Emerald Bay in Exuma: Four Seasons Browser Compatibility Page
Emerald Bay Resort

In the Turks and Caicos the best is Amanyara - Luxury beach resort Caribbean - home

I hope this was of some help.

Ehh, not a fan of Atlantis at all. Way too family oriented, had problems getting reservations at the restaurants there, even as a guest.

Honestly, I think there are a lot nicer islands to go to for a honeymoon. If you are set on the Bahamas, I would check out "One and Only".

If you are open to other islands, check Anguilla (Cap Juluca is great), St. Barths, Virgin Gorda (BVI). Not a huge fan of Turks and Caicos either.

Spunky Giraffe, its just a name i got in high school. I'm 6'4" and blonde, so yea....i dunno you had to know my friends.

But yea, we are staying on the other side of Nasseu (sp), where it is less commercialized and we can do stuff. our second week is up in the air right now. I am checking into all of your suggestions as I am sure most people here have traveled to more places than me.

Thank you and keep em coming!!

Just giving you a hard time.

But the T&C, as noted elsewhere, were 60% destroyed (private homes) by the hurricanes this season, and will be rebuilding for a long time to come. And Atlantis is kid central, but maybe not such a great honeymoon spot.

Atlantis is "kid central" I personally wouldn't stay there. It's a good place though, because you can find a good deal most times.

As far as One&Only's Ocean Club. It's my favorite, but unless you are willing to spend more than $800 per night on a garden view room, don't go there. It is an Amazing place though.

Take a look at the other suggestions I sent you though, I am sure you will find something you will like. I have been to all of thos places except for Kamalame Cay.

The Cove at Atlantis is great because it is away from the main resort, and is more for grown ups. If you are from NYC then you will recognize the Cain Beach club at The Cove, same owners.

Good luck in your search.

Yea our neighbor loves turks. my fiance wants to do the atlantis thing because its tropical and we got a good deal. But we are not staying at that hotel, we are using a timeshare on the other side of the island, so we will be far from the kids and stuff.

I am going to check into Turks and see how bad it got hit and change things up I think, we have 8 months to decide still. We are both teachers so we are not rolling in the money, but my parents are giving me a big chunk for the two weeks (10kish) so we will see where we go.
