Tirerack and Motegi are proud to introduce the Technomesh forged aluminum wheel
Motegi Racing is introducing its Technomesh forged aluminum wheel to American Le Mans Series competition with the No. 27 Dempsey Racing Trina Solar/GNC Beverages/Motegi Racing Lola-Judd P2 entry. “Dempsey Racing has been able to expand to ALMS P2 only because of the support of our great partners like Motegi Racing,” said Dempsey Racing team owner and driver Patrick Dempsey. “We wouldn’t be competing at this level without their support and it will be even better to now race in P2 with actual Motegi Racing wheels.”
According to Motegi, the Technomesh forged aluminum wheel was targeted as an option to teams seeking an alternative to cast magnesium wheels. It is hoped that 2013 will see widespread implementation.
Motegi and Tirerack are at the development stage of offering this wheel in the US and are open to fitment recommendations. They can be made as an 18” track wheel up to 22” performance street wheel. Center lock is available. The wheel begins with 6061-T6 Forged Aluminum billet. The forged aluminum is spun, heat treated and inspected for quality and tolerances in the USA. Then the forged blank is then machined, precision-milled, shot peened, inspected and finished in Italy.
Any input is welcomed!
