Will HRE Sell Me An Outer Barrel Only?

Will HRE Sell Me An Outer Barrel Only?
I curbed on of my wheels and need a new outer barrel. Will HRE sell me just the outer barrel for my wheel, or will I have to ship the wheel to them?
I know I can take the wheel to a local wheel shop and they can fix the wheel with the following process (almost always used to fix polished lips)
1) Grind damaged part down
2) Weld more material on
3) Grind excess material down
4) sand out grinding marks
5) re-polish lips
I do not want to do this as welding a forged, heat-treated part can weaken it. I want to replace the entire outer barrel.

Jox, please re-read. SOrry if I was unclear. I DO NOT want to heat the lip to repair it. I would have to do this process if HRE would not sell me a new outer barrel.
If they sold me a new outer barrel this would be my process (no heat)
1) Disassemble wheel and discard curbed outer lip
2) Re-assemble wheel with new outer lip
3) Reseal the wheel with silicone
I can easily do all of the labor myself so my only expense would be the part.

Hopefully one of the wheel guys will chime in here soon.

I seriously curbed one of my HRE P43s a few months back.
I sent the wheel back to HRE and they repaired it like new. It only cost $250 but it took about 3 weeks.
I am in Orange County and they are in San Diego.
I have a friend that facilitated the shipping and what-not.
I do not know what process they used to repair it but it is like new.
There is no "I" In TEAM! (I started all of my sentences with "I" - har har
)

)So, I would be without my car for at least two weeks. A month is more likely assuming HRE would have the wheel for about two weeks.
If they would send me the part, I would only be without my car for about two days (the length of time the silicone sealer would need to try). Also, i could use it as an opportunity to re-finish all of my wheels.
Also, just an interesting fact. I know this is the case with multi-piece wheels, I'm not sure about monoblocks like yours. HRE will not repair damaged parts. They replace them with new parts. They do this because many of the repair techniques use heat and can impair the structural integrity of the wheel.

Hmm...this is a good question (and one I'm interested in for future reference). I know that you can buy replacement wheel pieces, but I'm not sure if you have to actually send in your wheel for this or if HRE will just ship you the replacement item. I know they warranty their replacement parts, so perhaps it would be a warranty liability for them to ship you the outer lips and have you do the re-assembly and sealing.
This for sale thread (CA 18' HRE 540 Gloss Charcoal (Stepped Lip) - Club Lexus Forums) details the prices involved for that particular owner's 18" 540Rs to give you a better idea of what to expect if you do need to ship the entire wheel to them (they charge for assembly, the outer barrel, etc).
Good luck and please let us know the outcome.

We normally do not sell rim parts, and prefer to inspect the wheel and repair work ourselves to make sure the repair is completed to our standards.
I would contact Vince, call our main number at 760-598-1960 and he can help you with options.
