i finally got the CD today - *MUCH* better than the various YouTube clips i've seen/heard.
it's not the masterpiece that Portishead (the album) was (one of the top 10 albums ever) but it's a very solid release. Beth's vocals sound like they're mixed more in the front, and they're a little monotonous to me, but the music surprised me. It's a bit sparser, not as dense and claustrophobic, more free space w/ a weird retro-ish vibe that's somehow quite digital.
