lol im quite capable of thinking outside the box, especially musically. I just don't think that Cobain was talented. Sorry. I mean I don't think you can name one well known band/musician that was influenced by Nirvana. And don't say Pearl Jam, because Vedder has said many times that he was influenced by REM. And Grohl and the Foo Fighters is not really an example either.

EDIT: I really don't wanna get into this argument, so let's just say we can agree to disagree. I just don't have a lot of respect for alternative rock. That's just me though.

it's not about talent

having worked in the industry for 15yrs+ (prior to the interweb and american idol bs phenomenon)

the saying was "timing is everything"
"talent" is less than 5%

dunno if jimi could impact a generation in 2008 the way he did in the late middle 60's

Jimi was the kind of person that made such an impact on everyone, not many people in there passing make your reflect back to that day, and you remember exactly where you were and what you were doing! RIP........
